Google Business Profiles let restaurants turn off third party ordering providers

Google added controls in Business Profiles that let restaurants manage third party ordering services one by one, including opting out of specific providers directly from the dashboard. Previously, restaurants had to ask each delivery platform to remove or disconnect its feed. Google’s Lisa Landsman announced the change on LinkedIn, and the screenshot shows separate settings for pickup and delivery.

Our take

This is a margin lever disguised as a settings page. Every order that goes through a delivery app instead of your own site costs you a commission and the customer relationship. If you run marketing for a restaurant, open the profile today, keep only the providers you want, and make sure your own ordering link is the cleanest option left.
