Google appears to be opening its Business Profile AI powered messaging to more businesses, letting customers text a business from Search and Maps in their phone’s own messaging app. An AI agent answers routine questions at no cost and hands off what it cannot answer. It only works for customers on networks and phones that support RCS.
Our take
The agent can only answer as well as your profile does, so it will repeat stale hours and old menus to customers. Before you switch it on, update hours, services, prices and photos in your profile. Then send it ten common customer questions yourself and fix every wrong answer at the source.
