Reddit begins testing ads inside its search results

Reddit said on November 3, 2026 that it is testing ad placements in its search results pages with a select group of eligible advertisers. The ads use existing ad targeting on search pages Reddit describes as high purchase and search intent. Ads may appear based on factors that include contextual relevance to the query, such as espresso gear ads for an espresso station search. Reddit said it will watch how users respond and refine the experience over time.
Our take
Reddit is monetizing its own search after Google cut the referral traffic that once filled its funnel. Ask your Reddit rep whether you are in the test and how search impressions show up in reporting before you raise feed budgets to compensate. Until search is open to every advertiser, treat feed and conversation placements as the durable buy and treat search as a pilot.
