Say what the video will not have

Nintendo of America posted on Oct 31, 2026 in Miyamoto's voice: This is Miyamoto. At 7am PT today, we will release a video covering Pikmin-related information on Nintendo's official YouTube channel. There will be no information about new games, but we hope you tune in. The image shows three Pikmin in blue, yellow and red. The post passed 22,000 likes and 650,000 views, and a top reply called it the most honest roadmap update.

Fans hope every Nintendo video hides a new game, so saying up front that there is none heads off the letdown before it starts, and hearing it from the creator of the series makes the honesty feel personal. To copy it, say what is in the video and when it goes live.

  1. Say what is in the video and when it goes live
  2. Say what is not in it before fans start guessing
  3. Let the person fans trust most say it
  4. Ask people to tune in anyway
