Google Ads reps reach out with AI generated names and photos

Joe Youngblood said a Google Ads contractor called him, and an hour later an email arrived from a Google Ads Strategist named Kassy Garcia. He found no such person on LinkedIn, and a Google tool flagged the profile photo as AI generated. Google says its extended workforce reps always use an email address ending in xwf.google.com, and it gave no comment to Search Engine Roundtable.
Our take
Treat every outreach from a Google Ads strategist as a sales call. Check the sender ends in xwf.google.com, and never accept their recommendations or give account access on a call. Tell your team and clients the same rule, since the goal of these calls is to get you to spend more.
