Google signals no click data for the Search Console AI report yet

A LinkedIn post quoted a Googler saying clicks and queries data would come to the AI performance report in Google Search Console. Gary Illyes of Google replied that the team wants to give more data that makes sense but has nothing to announce yet. John Mueller later said on Bluesky that this was a weird way to read the comment, so the outcome stays unclear.

Our take

Do not wait on Google to tell you what AI search sends you. Track AI Overview and AI Mode traffic yourself with landing page tests, branded search trends and analytics referrals. Report AI visibility to your team as a separate number from organic clicks, so your team stops waiting on Search Console to fill that gap.
