Should I fix my hooks or my landing page

If nobody stops on the post, fix the hook. If people click and then leave, fix the landing page. To tell which, run the free X hook grader on the post and the free landing page grader on the page. Each one sees only its half. A call with Blake is $499 for 50 minutes.

How to tell which one is broken

  1. Look at where people drop offFew likes or replies means the post lost them in the first line. Clicks with no signups means the page lost them.
  2. Grade the postPaste it into the X hook grader. It checks the first line, who it speaks to, the plain words and the reason to look now. It cannot see your page.
  3. Grade the pagePaste the link into the landing page grader. It checks the headline, the proof and the button. It cannot see the post that sent people there.
  4. Check that the two matchThe first line of the page should keep the promise the post made. If the post says one thing and the page opens on another, people leave even when both grade well.
  5. Fix one side at a timeChange the hook or the page first, then look again. If you change both at once you cannot tell which change helped.
  6. Bring the stuck one to a callIf you still cannot tell, bring the post and the page to a working call. You leave with the page rewritten in a doc.

Wendy's

2. Ride the launch everyone is waiting for

Comparing its launch to the most awaited game on the internet hands Wendy's a joke every gamer gets, and the date makes it a real launch instead of a meme.

  1. Find the launch your audience is waiting for
  2. Frame yours against it in one line
  3. Give your own release date
  4. Keep your brand voice

What else do people ask

Should I fix my hooks or my landing page

If nobody stops on the post, fix the hook. If they click and then leave, fix the page. If you cannot tell, grade both with the free tools first.

Can a good hook save a weak landing page

No. A good hook sends more people to the page, and a weak page loses each of them.

Can the X hook grader check my landing page

No. It only reads the post. Use the landing page grader for the page and the review checklist for what a script cannot see.
